Additional Information about Visine Workplace
Visine Workplace is a liquid. It is applied by releasing one or more drops directly into the eye. Patients will experience immediate relief from their dry, itching or burning eyes. Redness in the eyes will fade over the course of several minutes to half an hour depending on the severity of the symptoms.
Visine Workplace works by causing the blood vessels in the eye to contract and shrink. This type of drug is commonly called a vasoconstrictor. Once the blood vessels have contracted, the redness in the eye will disappear. Burning and dryness are relieved because of the added moisture from the drops.
Visine Workplace is intended to be used as needed. If more than one drop is necessary in the eye at one time, wait five minutes between drops. This medication should not be used for more than three consecutive days in a row.
Before taking Visine Workplace, a doctor should be consulted if the patient has heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma or a thyroid disorder. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a doctor as well because there have not been studies to determine the effects of oxymetazoline ophthalmic on unborn babies or its effect on breast milk.
Patients may very rarely experience burning, headache, nausea, dizziness, increased heart rate or high blood pressure when taking Visine Workplace. It is important to stop using Visine Workplace if any of these symptoms occur and contact a doctor immediately.
There is a chance that Visine Workplace may interact with certain drugs. A doctor should be asked about the possible interactions if the patient is currently taking an MAOI or a beta-blocking medication.
